AirTag dog collars in full-grain calfskin
Most people strap an AirTag to a collar with a silicone holder. It rattles, it snags, it works loose in undergrowth, and it announces to anyone looking that the dog is tracked. Ours is sewn in: a padded pocket on the inside face of the strap, closed with a leather tab, invisible from the outside.
The pocket, not the holder
The AirTag sits flat against the strap in a leather-lined pocket, so it never touches your dog's coat and never knocks against the tag ring. The speaker and Bluetooth antenna are unobstructed — leather does not attenuate the signal the way a metal holder can.
Full-grain calfskin and solid brass
Vegetable-tanned full-grain calfskin, cut from the tightest part of the hide so it softens rather than cracks. Buckle, D-ring and rivets are solid brass, not plated zinc, so nothing corrodes green after a wet winter. The leather is finished without chrome or PFAS.
Is it safe for the dog?
An AirTag emits Bluetooth Low Energy at a fraction of a phone's power and contains a CR2032 battery. The battery is the only real hazard, and only if swallowed — which is precisely why a sewn-in pocket beats a clip-on holder a dog can chew off. Fit two fingers between collar and neck, and check the pocket tab monthly.
What it does and doesn't do
An AirTag is a finder, not a GPS tracker. It locates your dog through the Find My network of nearby Apple devices — excellent in towns, villages and parks, unreliable in genuinely remote country with no phones around. For hiking far from people, pair it with a GPS unit.

What people ask before they buy
- Is it safe to put an AirTag on a dog collar?
- Yes, when it is secured properly. AirTags emit very low-power Bluetooth and pose no known health risk. The genuine hazard is the CR2032 battery if a dog chews the tag open, which is why we sew the AirTag into a closed leather pocket on the inside of the strap rather than using a clip-on silicone holder.
- How do I attach an AirTag to a dog collar?
- On our collars there is nothing to attach: open the leather tab on the inside face of the strap, drop the AirTag in flat, and close it. On an ordinary collar you would need a separate holder, which sits proud of the strap and can be pulled off in undergrowth.
- Does an AirTag work as a dog GPS tracker?
- Not exactly. An AirTag has no GPS or SIM — it reports its position when any nearby iPhone detects it via the Find My network. In towns and busy parks that is fast and accurate. In empty countryside with no Apple devices nearby, it will only show the last known location.
- Will the leather block the AirTag signal?
- No. Leather is transparent to Bluetooth. Metal AirTag holders are the ones that can reduce range; our pocket is leather-lined precisely to avoid that.
- What size collar do I need?
- Measure around the base of your dog's neck with a soft tape, keeping two fingers of slack, and match that to the middle hole of the size range. Our sizing guide lists neck measurements for each size.
